Ingredients
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Beat softened cream cheese until smooth, about 1 minute.
- Stir in shredded chicken, hot sauce, dressing, garlic powder, onion powder, and 1 cup cheddar until evenly combined.
- Spread into a 9x13-inch baking dish and top with remaining 1/2 cup cheddar.
- Bake uncovered 18-20 minutes, until bubbling at the edges and cheese is melted with light golden spots.
- Rest 5 minutes before serving with tortilla chips, celery, or carrot sticks.
Beat the cream cheese until fully smooth before adding the other ingredients so the dip stays creamy with no lumps. For extra golden spots, broil for the last 1-2 minutes, watching closely. Make it ahead by assembling and refrigerating up to 24 hours, then add 5 extra minutes to the bake time.
Notes
Food safety note: don't skip checking the internal temperature. Chicken that looks white on the outside can still be undercooked in the center, and 165°F is the temperature at which harmful bacteria are killed.
